A Tour  of Historic Places in Upper St. John's Parish
is offered by The Parish House Tea Room

The Tour begins at The Historic Church of the Epiphany c. 1849 and your guide will lead you through the church's rich history, pointing out the many things that make it so unique in heritage and style.

Your group will then be led either on foot or by bus to The Rectory c. 1834 (parsonage) beginning with an explanation of the dormer on the front porch of the Summer Plantation home, especially designed to be opened or closed by pulley to let the air escape from the porch.  Many of the doors of the Rectory have their original hand carved hinges.

The next stop is lunch at The Parish House c. 1828.  As you gather and are seated for lunch, you will be given a history and learn of how the front porch became the back porch, through an act of God.

There are assisted walks and railings throughout the buildings.  A book may be purchased that gives more extensive information on the points of interest in the area, such at the Eutaw Battle Grounds.

The Parish House is a designated Site on the Heritage Corridor, has a gift and antique shop and has been featured in the Sandlapper,
The Palmetto Paper and several other South Carolina Newspapers.

The Cost of the Tour and Lunch is $20 per person, tax & gratuity is included in this price. A 12 person minimum is recommended.
We also offer a musical program from The Parish House Trio for and
additional $5 per person.  Please contact us for further information.
